Ways to support dementia research

Fundraising in memory is an incredibly special way to honour your loved one. There are many different ways to get involved and support life-changing dementia research.

Dedicate a place

When remembering someone who’s passed away, we often think of the places that were important to them, like where they walked the dog, their favourite pub, or the football stadium where they never missed a match. You can dedicate a location anywhere in the world to their memory on Alzheimer’s Research UK’s virtual map.

Request collection envelopes

You may wish to honour your loved one by asking family and friends to make a donation at the funeral or memorial service, perhaps in lieu of flowers. Alzheimer’s Research UK can provide collection envelopes which can be gathered on the day or sent back at a later date. Funeral Directors often help out with this process.

Alternatively, you can send any donations collected in memory of your loved one to:

Donations on special occasions

Many people find it comforting to donate in memory of their loved ones on occasions such as their birthday, Christmas, or anniversaries. You can set up a direct debit to send a donation at the same time every year, in your loved one’s memory.

Take on a challenge in their memory

Alzheimer’s Research UK have events to suit all interests, whether that’s cycling, swimming, walking or running a marathon. You can find events happening near you, or take on your own fundraising challenge
